June 2017 Newsletter

Father Gabriel Council 3746

It is June, and the weather is getting hot and muggy! I want to start this months newsletter off with a special congratulations to all of our newly elected officers! May God bless and guide us in the new council year!

We have added sign up sheets and a form to keep track of everyones volunteer hours on the website. Please go to ”Volunteer” under “Events” on the website to sign up to volunteer at an event. Below the sign up sheets is a form that you can enter any other volunteer hours that you have done to help our Parish or Council. Please help us keep track of these hours so that we can try to get Star Council this year! If you have any events or any need for Brother Knights to volunteer and want us to put a sign up sheet, please contact SK David DeFino and he will add a sign up sheet for you. Just make sure to let us know the time and date, and how many Brother Knights you need.

We have a car show at the Hall on June 14th from 5 to 9pm. Please spread the news, and come on down. There will be food and music, and the lounge will be open. If you have a classic or exotic car, bring it down!

SK  Ed Reilly will be hosting a Garage Sale on June 16th and 17th at the Hall! The hours will be 9-4 on Friday and 9-1 on Saturday. Individual Council & OLL members can rent their own table for their personal GARAGE SALE – $20.00 each for both days

• Donations are being accepted for useable sale items for the sale to benefit our Council

• Donation of large plastic trash bags will be accepted

  • Proceeds of the Council sale will benefit the council and their charitable efforts

As always, we will have a council meeting on the 2nd Tuesday of the month (June 13th) at 7pm, and on the third Tuesday of the month (June 27th) at 7pm. There will be a first degree exemplification at the June 27th meeting, so if you have anyone who want to become a Knight, get their form 100 to us before then. (and by “us” I mean our new DGK Vito Abramowicz who will be heading up the admissions committee.)

Also, if you are reading this on the website, there is a sign up form on the bottom right of this page that will allow you to have this newsletter and other important events emailed to you. please sign up below. John F. Kennedy Assembly #1593

The 4th Degree will be having our monthly meeting on Monday June 5th. All Brother Knights who have attained the 4th degree are invited to attend.

Our brother SK Frank Macri will be having a convalidation wedding ceremony at OLL on June 11th at the 10:30 mass. He has requested Knights attend in Social Baldrics or Regalia. For more information, please come to the meeting on June 5th.

This section may be updated after the meeting.

Columbus Club

The Columbus Club of Brevard meets the 3rd Monday of the month (June 19th) at 7:00 pm in the lounge. All Brother Knights are invited to attend. The Columbus Club of Brevard is charged with maintaining and running the operation of our hall and lounge. Helping the Columbus Club is helping the Council. If you want to continue to have this wonderful hall and lounge available, please considering volunteering with the Columbus Club. We could use kitchen help on Friday nights (So Frank, Tom and John can have a break now and then) as well as kitchen, clean-up or bartender help at different rentals and functions.

As always, the lounge is open every Friday night from 5:00 pm until we close.Food and drinks are reasonably priced, and every little bit helps. Come down, and bring your friends. We maintain a safe, child friendly Christian environment that is hospitable to all.

A Message From our Field Agent

LTC Is an Important Piece of the Puzzle

There are many financial consultants and retirement authorities who emphasize the need for a long-term care (LTC) product for estate preservation and family protection. While many commercial life insurance companies have gotten out of the long-term care business, the Knights of Columbus considers LTC a very important piece of the family protection puzzle. The Order has been actively offering our members this product for nearly 15 years without a premium increase on current policyholders. Members who wisely purchased an LTC plan from the Knights in 2000 are still paying the same premiums today. Even better, our LTC coverage is backed by the full strength of the Order, which remains rooted in our strong Catholic values. Talk about stability when it counts.

If we have not spoken about your need for LTC coverage in your family portfolio, please take some time out of your schedule to meet with me.

Remember, long-term care policies are underwritten based on your health, and you most likely will never be any healthier than you are today.
